Dear HH-BH Community Members and Kindergarten families,
At the monthly HH-BH Community Association meeting held on Thursday, April 14, 2016, a motion was passed regarding the HH-BH Community Kindergarten. The Community Association board of directors agreed to discontinue the relationship with the HH-BH Community Kindergarten as an ancillary group effective June 30, 2016.
This decision was made only after careful assessment and collaboration with a variety of experts, community members and volunteers. Including:
The 2015 – 16 Indoor Soccer season was a great success for Briar Hill teams. We had seven teams registered with Calgary Minor Soccer Associations from U10-U18.
The Girls U16 team had an undefeated year in league play. The girls qualified for the Inter-Cities tournament where they won the silver medal. The Boys U14 team also qualified for Inter-Cities where they played in Edmonton and won the bronze medal.
I think I can safely say that winter is now behind us and we are firmly planted in spring!
April 10 - 16 is National Volunteer Week. I recently read that there are 12.7 million volunteers across Canada and I am sure that many live in Calgary, including our own community. Several years ago a fellow volunteer said to me “If you want something done, ask a busy person.” Somehow, it seems that volunteering has an addictive quality - the more you give, the more you get, and it becomes a lifestyle that would be hard to give up.
Another wonderful book sale is complete and we would be amiss if we did not write and thank you for:
